Summary

The sweetwind tribe is located at the very top of Lumosa’s tallest mountains where most spend their days lounging in hot springs or tending to their homes. The mountain has been partially hollowed out through years of efforts from generations of softs who called this tribe their home, allowing for homes inside of the mountain as well. 

The outside homes are made of stone, wood and crystalline structures, often built around the hot springs this tribe is known for. 

The interior homes are carved into the mountain itself and lit up using crystals with light runes carved into them. If one ventures further into the depths of the mountain they'd find more natural springs yet the locals always warn to not go in too deep. They stopped digging for a reason, after all.

Sweetwind’s most famous feature is their “Cleansing hot springs” which softs from all tribes come to see, they  are said to heal all ailments and grand the highest forms of relaxation. There’s a catch, however!

Any soft who’s not airborne must pay a hefty price to be carried up there by one of the air-carriages or try to scale the mountain on their own - a challenge which can take up to several days and is not for the faint of heart. 

Managing an Air-carriage or Hotspring is a popular job for softs of the Sweetwind tribe, but only softs who are Born in Sweetwind may take up the latter as it's a very important responsibility to have.

Tribe specialties;

  • It’s said that the hot springs can cleanse any ailment yet the inhabitants are rather hesitant to just anyone use them - in fear that their precious springs may be corrupted by ick one day. 

 

Customs & traditions;
  • The poison element is hated by most yet Sweetwind is one of the worst in this regard - one could merely mention the element and may be asked to leave if they’re an outsider. 
  • Seeing a soft without wings living in this tribe is a rare sight indeed - many things are built with the intention of being flown to (i.e a lack of stairs to most places). 
  • Sweetwind leaves their deceased on mountain tops so their souls may be picked up by the wind - or so they hope - and they will reborn with wings yet again. 

 

Oracle succession system;

Sweetwind doesn’t differ much from Temple in their succession system except that theirs is not hereditary but decided via trial. When an Oracle dies, retires or disappears a grand tournament will be held where softs from all origins may come to spectate.

The first round is a race across the mountains, the second a test in cleansing the hotsprings and the third and final a complicated magic ritual involving multiple elements.

The soft with the most impressive performance will be appointed as Oracle.

Deputy’s are chosen by the current Oracle but will not automatically gain the position should said Oracle resign. They will have to enter the trials just like a normal citizen would.
