Summary;
Candle LS are considered a divine craft and thus sacred in the eyes of many. It is believed the first Candle LS were created from the ichor of the Light deity, whether or not this is true is up to personal preference. Candle softs are often ethereal, wise but odd all the same. They have innate affinity for Light and Fire magic and their tails are always aflame.
Despite their supposedly divine origins this is the most fragile subspecies around, they tend to stick to their homes and not venture outside much if at all. A candle LS is not made to handle the elements, if its too cold their wax goo would harden, if its too warm they’d melt all together.
While a melted or hardened Candle Soft can be put together again in most cases, the experience is quite unpleasant and to be avoided unless necessary.

Origin;
Candle softs are a very old subspecies that only properly came into being when the first generation of softs mistook some dried up divine ichor regular shiny softstone. The first Candle LS were created like this - although they looked quite different from their modern day counterparts - and in the old days opinions on them were rather mixed.
Because of their frailty the Candle softs of old retreated back to an island of their own and had minimal contact with the growing tribes and were thus forgotten by the history pages. It took hundreds of years for them to be re-discovered by explorers mapping out the planet and were mistaken for divinity at first once again.
In the present most Candle LS still stay on their island but there are a few who travel.
